* Agriculture at the Crossroads. This annual conference (typically the first Thursday in November) presents “cutting edge” information on issues affecting agriculture, agribusiness, rural Nebraska and the state’s overall economy. Government officials and policymakers join with NAC members for dialogue on solutions. For information, contact Dr. Ted Hartung, NAC executive director, at 402/472-2821.
* AgRelations Award. Each year NAC presents its Nebraska AgRelations Award to a selected
individual for exemplary contributions to agriculture. To request nomination materials, contact Larry Hudkins, awards committee chair, at 402/796-2254.
* Speakers Bureau. NAC members are invited to be part of a Speakers Bureau, whose members are available to speak to civic groups and other organizations on a variety of topics related to agriculture. NAC coordinates and publicizes the Speakers Bureau, but participants determine their topics, availability and fee (if any). To volunteer, send a message to: buescher@windstream.net.
* Annual Meeting. NAC will hold its Annual Meeting in conjunction with the Nebraska Ag Classic, a “mega meeting” involving several ag-related organizations. Each group will have its own official annual meeting, but will join together for major speakers and functions. The 2007 Nebraska Ag Classic will be Dec. 11-13 at the Kearney Holiday Inn. NAC will hold its annual meeting during the Ag Classic. For more information, contact Nancy Eberle at neberle@mainstaycomm.net.
* Agricultural Communications/Events Database. NAC maintains an on-line database with information about Nebraska agricultural organizations, events and media activities. Visit the database to see "who’s doing what." Contact the listed sources for more information or materials, or to propose joint ventures. To have your information added to the database, contact Cheryl Stubbendieck at: cheryls@nefb.org.
